The Third Annual International Human Rights Lecture of The Mary Robinson Centre was delivered by Hina Jilani. In her Ballina lecture entitled ‘Protecting Human Rights Defenders Worldwide’, Hina Jilani shared her experience as a lawyer, civil rights activist, member of The Elders and advocate of the Supreme Court of Pakistan in the movement for peace, human rights and women's rights in Pakistan and internationally. 

​Speaking of the challenges of protecting human rights defenders and enabling them continue their vital work, Ms Jilani acknowledging that ‘it has been the biggest challenge of my life to find the right way to protect human rights defenders.’
