The Mary Robinson Centre are excited to facilitate a Project Dandelion workshop in association with the TikTok Youth Climate Leadership Alliance.
Here, we invite Ballina Fringe Festival attendees to unite in action for a climate safe world, together with Project Dandelion, a global women-led campaign for climate justice.
We ask attendees to bring along their old cds and vinyls to this workshop to reuse, and to paint the Project Dandelion logo onto their cd or vinyl and sign their name on it as a symbol of their commitment to climate action.
The decorated and pledged cds and vinyls will then be added to Ballina Fringe Festival and The Mary Robinsons Centre’s Project Dandelions Pledge Wind Chime, which will hang for the duration of the festival.
This is a family friendly event which promotes awareness of climate change, sustainability, climate change leadership empowerment for women globally and creativity.

Duration: 2 hours
This informal evening event is an opportunity to engage with the project’s vision, learn about our exciting next steps and gain a deeper understanding of the project’s progress to date.
The evening will include a short presentation and an exhibition of potential ideas that could help transform the laneways. Attendees will have the chance to explore these concepts, offer their own ideas, challenge any ideas presented, and provide valuable feedback to our team.
Whether you’re already involved or simply interested in learning more, this event promises to be both informative and inspiring as we work together to drive meaningful change in our town. Refreshments will be provided. We hope to see you there!
Cascade is funded by Creative Ireland and aims to explore how the laneways of our historic town centres can adapt to cope with increased rainfall from climate change. All residents of Ballina are invited to take part in a series of events and creative workshops throughout 2024 and 2025 to share their experiences of water and public space in the town, and explore how laneways can become a connected trail of climate-resilient, shared spaces that celebrate water.
