Some Suggestions to get you started:
- Respect all members of our community
- Give equal opportunities to all members of our community
- Support gender equality on our committee, Board, Trustees and representation groups
- Shop local to support our local economy
- Prioritise renewable resources where possible in our purchasing decisions
- Explore green or renewable options for our energy usage
- Reduce energy use in our space
- Reduce our water consumption
- Commit to reduce, reuse, recycle our waste
- Commit to composting our organic waste
- Organise a regular litter pick up in our neighbourhood or in one of Ballina’s public spaces
- Encourage our members and visitors to our space to walk or cycle where practical
- Where we provide parking, ensure it includes adequate cycle parking
- Develop a biodiversity garden or allotment on our grounds
- Support native planting and wildlife in our grounds
- Organise a monthly birdwatch or wildflower walk
- Organise community repair projects, repair networks or fix-it workshops if your group has expertise it can share
- Collaborate with other community groups and local business interests where we can work together for greater benefit
- Develop a Sustainability Policy for our community group
- Appoint a Green Ambassador for our organisation
